Influence of hypertension on the hemodynamic response to exercise.

چکیده
HYPERTENSION is a disorder affecting the normal regulation of blood pressure, and under the stress of exercise there is a greater rise in arterial pressure in hypertensive than in normal subjects.' 3 In this study, the extent of this rise in a large number of hypertensive patients has been investigated to determine whether this response is sufficiently characteristic for this condition to be used as a diagnostic test in doubtful cases. Since hypertension presents an excessive work load on the heart, and most patients lead a normally active life, emphasis has also been placed upon the cardiac response to exercise. Effects of Lidocaine on the Acute Hemodynamic Response to Electroconvulsive Therapy
ABSTRACT Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) has been used widely to treat psychiatric disease. ECT under anesthesia is associated with hypertension and tachycardia. The cardiovascular effects of ECT were studied after per-treatment of 100 patients with lidocaine 1.5 mg/Kg (experimental group) and saline solution (control), using a double-blind, randomized clinical trial study. There were no sign...
متن کاملHypotensive response after resistance exercise leading to failure and not to failure in trained men
Hypertension is epidemic disease which post-exercise hypotension (PEH) is useful strategies for hypertension. The aim of present study was to investigate the effects of resistance exercise leading to failure (REF) and resistance exercise not to failure (NREF) on PEH phenomenon in trained men. Eight trained men (age: 22.12±1.81 yr; height: 179±3.44 cm; weight: 73.82±4.29 kg;...
متن کاملThe effect of exercise status on response of homocysteine and insulin resistance to aerobic exercise in postmenopausal obese women
Homocysteine and insulin resistance in postmenoupausal women rises due to decrease in estrogen, low mobility and weight gain which increase the cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of aerobic exercise training status on response of homocysteine and insulin resistance to aerobic exercise in active and nonactive obese postmenopausal women. Therefore, 21 obese ...
متن کاملHemodynamic Characteristics Including Pulmonary Hypertension at Rest and During Exercise Before and After Heart Transplantation
BACKGROUND Little is known about the hemodynamic response to exercise in heart failure patients at various ages before and after heart transplantation (HT). This information is important because postoperative hemodynamics may be a predictor of survival. To investigate the hemodynamic response to HT and exercise, we grouped our patients based on preoperative age and examined their hemodynamics a...
متن کاملEffects of remifentanil and alfentanil on cardiovascular responses to tracheal intubation
Introduction: Laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation necessitate to start a surgery and induction of general anesthesia as well as the maintenance of the air way and to provide ventilation. However, Laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation may lead to hemodynamic response that appear with the symptoms of hypertension tachycardia, arrhythmia and myocardial ischemia and results in myocardial infarction...
